Introduction

In terms of agriculture and animal husbandry, Ruppandehi district is at the forefront of the country and can be considered as the center of animal resources. Poverty cannot be eliminated without the development of agriculture and animal husbandry, which are the backbone of the country's economic development. For the growing population, animal products and animal products are being imported among the protein-rich nutritious foods. To replace imports, to commercialize traditional animal husbandry, to make the country self-sufficient in milk, flowers, and meat, to control animal diseases, to attract youth to this profession, and to create jobs is the need of the day. In order to prevent the entry of various infectious diseases that may be introduced from outside the country during the import of animals, animal products, animal products, and to help support the commercialization of animal husbandry by minimizing the possibility of infectious diseases spreading within the country, in addition to the legal provisions to be followed when importing and exporting these materials, this office It is the main duty and responsibility of the check posts to comply. Analyzing the statistics of the last 5 years of this office, it is found that the country is moving towards self-sufficiency due to import substitution and export promotion of animals, animal products and animal production materials to some extent.

According to the decision of the Government of Nepal, since 061.01.01, the organization and structure of the Animal Services Department has been modified and the Animal Quarantine Checkposts operating in the past have been changed to Belhia (Rupandehi), Krishnanagar (Kapilvastu and Jamunia) and now Maheshpur (P. Nawalparasi) Animal Quarantine Office. Bhairahawa has been established.The working area of ​​this office is currently in Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi districts.

Due to the open borders, it is aimed to strengthen the coordination and activity of the security agencies, customs office and discourage the illegal importation of livestock, animal products, and animal products.

Purpose


 Strengthening the animal husbandry business by organizing the entry/exit of animals, animal products or animal products and helping to control infectious diseases that may spread from within/outside the country.
 Regulating the import and export of animals, animal products and animal products.
 If an infectious disease spreads within the country, coordinate with the Animal Services Office and other disease control agencies to assist in the prevention and control of the disease.
 To increase public awareness about contagious diseases that can be imported from foreign countries.
 Assisting Animal Services Office and Animal Disease Research Laboratory in disease control and diagnosis.
 Keeping additional data on animals, animal products and animal products and diseases and sending them to the Veterinary Epidemiology Center.
 Effectively implement the sections related to quarantine in the Animal Health and Animal Services Act 2055 and related regulations 2056.purpose
